The landscape designers at Southview Design have completed nearly 5000 Minnesota landscaping projects in Minneapolis, St. Paul and the Twin Cities area.

Karen Filloon has been active in the green industry since fall 2000. You may remember Karen from her work on Twin Cities radio and television as a meteorologist for KSTP and WCCO from 1982 through 2003. Taking her passion and knowledge of climate and weather into landscaping, she now focuses on residential design – designs with the climate in mind. She received a Certificate of Merit Award from the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association (MNLA) in January 2006. Karen also serves on the Public Relations Committee for the MNLA.

Tim's experience working in all areas of the landscape industry makes him a quality landscape designer that eases the stress of his clients. Tim has a degree in Landscape Horticulture and Design and has worked in the Landscape Industry for over 8 years. He works directly with his own field supervisors and Southview Design’s in-house landscaping crews. An expert in backyard swimming pool installations, Tim is a master at orchestrating complex projects involving multiple subcontractors and crews.

Josh has been in the landscape industry for 9 years. Josh began in the landscape installation department and has been designing for the last 7 years. Prior to moving to Minnesota, he owned and managed a landscape company in South Dakota. Josh recently received “Design of the Year” in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the landscape convention. Josh enjoys creating outdoor living rooms for busy families.

Bob received his formal landscape design training at Iowa State University and then honed his skills in Seattle, WA, where he had the opportunity to work on landscaping projects that most people only dream of. Bob has worked his way up from foreman, to division manager, to residential landscape designer. His experience shows itself in landscape designs which encompass form, function, and creativity. Bob’s portfolio demonstrates expertise in all forms of outdoor spaces: walls, patios, walkways, plant selection, lighting, and other unique aesthetic features. He is a 2008 recipient of the MNLA Merit award for excellence in landscape installation.

Wade Taylor

Before joining Southview, Wade was an independent landscape designer and landscape contractor. He brings 17 years of experience as a laborer, foreman, project manager, general manager, and designer to each project. In his nine years as a landscape designer, Wade has always focused on creating landscapes that are equally unique and functional: making expansive projects more personal, and giving smaller landscapes more depth. His ultimate goal as a landscape designer is to design landscapes that look better over time, where small changes can be made in the future, but the backbone of the landscape can age with beauty and grace. Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, Wade designs for winter and fall interest just as much as spring and summer.

Jeff trained as a landscape architect in Wisconsin & Europe, and has designed all styles and types of exterior environments. Jeff brings integrity, creativity, and skill to each new project in order to achieve optimum beauty and a lifetime of enjoyment for each client.

A member of the Southview landscaping design team since 1998, Marc has a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts and an Applied Science degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design from Dakota County Technical College. Marc has been fortunate to live on both coasts, and uses his knowledge of diverse environments to inspire his landscape designs.

Chris is a 2006 Hennepin Technical College graduate with an A.A.S. degree in Landscape Design and Construction. He also has an A.A. degree in Wilderness Management. Chris spent several years working in a wholesale evergreen nursery and three summers working as a National Park Service Interpretive Ranger before becoming involved in landscape design. Chris uses his knowledge of the natural environment to create intelligent designs that can withstand the extremes of Minnesota weather.

Abby Martinek is a 2006 graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture. Prior to graduation, she spent four years with a local greenhouse, gaining knowledge of the Minnesota plant base. She has also interned for Southview Design as an assistant for the Commercial Department of the company, gaining experience in both residential and large development design. Abby’s portfolio contains a wide variety of designs ranging from small scale gardens to large scale multi-purpose spaces. She designs a variety of spaces for all customer types and needs.

Tony Fratzke is a 1997 graduate of South Dakota State University with a bachelor's degree in Landscape Design. Before coming to work for Southview in 1998, he spent 5 years working as a landscape foreman and gaining the construction knowledge necessary to be a successful landscape designer. In addition to providing sales and design staff support, Tony also manages all facets of IT Services. Southview Design's focus on technology has given him a unique opportunity to combine his technological skills with his knowledge of landscape design and construction.
