Southview Design brings the landscape of historic Summit Avenue back to its roots
This hardscape and greenscape project transformed the look and feel of the Thomas-Chevalier family's historic home in St. Paul Minnesota. Major design elements encompassed new clay pavers for the walkway and driveway, new patio, and additional landscaping.

| In addition to their historic look and feel, pavers offer superior performance over poured concrete for strength and the ability to resist cracking. |

| Landscape designer, Tim Johnson, created a custom pattern using four different colors of clay paver. "The baked-in color of the clay, versus concrete pavers, results in a more authentic color," he says. |

| A showpiece fountain, complete with the calming sound of water, is well-placed on the east side of the yard, so it can be enjoyed from multiple vantage points. It can be heard from the home's second floor sleeping porch. |

| The family is delighted to have a more useable outdoor space. "We absolutely love it," Thomas says, adding, "Now we have a place to barbecue with the family and lounge in the shade while the kids play in the yard." |
