Landscape designer, Tom Dahlmeir, and the Southview Design construction crew transformed an overgrown wooded lot in suburban St. Paul, Minnesota into a Minnesota northwoods escape complete with a pond, patio, waterfall, gazebo, deck, and woodburning fire pit.

The focal point of this stunning northern landscape design is a cascading waterfall. The waterfall emerges from the woods and comes to rest in a quiet pond beside the patio and gazebo. |

| While the lot was large, it was crowded with dense, buckthorn-infested woods. Clearning the woods, and extending the design into the trees gave the homeowners a bigger back yard with an "up north" feel. |

| Despite weather setbacks, construction was completed in less than six weeks. To enhance backyard visibility and usability after sundown, Tom added up and down lighting. The lighting design accentuates the textures and colors of the landscape.
